What Makes This Special
Backdrop’s Los Angeles studio drew upon 19th- and 20th-century classical and neoclassical motifs found in Schumacher’s archive to create this eclectic design. Its whimsical, lyre-playing cherubs are inspired by St. Claire Le Chateau, a vintage Schumacher fabric named for author Edith Wharton’s idyllic summer retreat, while stylized renderings of shells and jewels update the classic structure with surrealist charm and detail. Blending historical flourishes with modern, offbeat glamour, this richly referential and sophisticated wallcovering coordinates beautifully with Backdrop’s premium climate-neutral paints. -
